As one of the hallmark initiatives undertaken by Brahmapur Development Authority (BDA), this model project aims for an integrated approach to planning with due importance to incorporate sustainable transport and infrastructure with land use planning.
The impetus to the project is its strategic location influencing the growth at various levels. The CDP 2031 proposals like airport, CBD and industrial zones are in close proximity to the site. The abutting Engineering College and the proposed 500 bed multi-specialty hospital by TATA provides significant opportunities for showcasing an integrated and interdependent mixed use development on the proposed site. The proposed SEZ and other industries could potentially attract over 10000 jobs, which in turn could possibly induce a demand for various types of housing and public amenities.
In order to capitalize on the opportunity presented by this strategic location, BDA has identified this government owned land located near Sitalapalli village to develop an integrated township. The intent is to create a development that is inclusive in all respects-designed for diverse age groups, income levels, and transportation modes, while at the same time preserve the area’s environmental assets and integrating existing villages- the key ingredients of creating sustainable communities through active private participation.
